Before configuring your FTP client to use Libsyn's FTP service, you will need to setup an FTP Password. Details on how to configure an FTP password can be found in our Uploading Using FTP tutorial.
With your FTP Password set, you can configure your FileZilla FTP client. To do so, open FileZilla, then select File --> Site Manager. On the dialogue box that opens, select New Site.
On the left hand side, change the default site name to Libsyn FTP. Then fill in the General tab with the following details:
Protocol:
Select FTP - File Transfer Protocol.
Host:
ftp-lax.libsyn.com
Port Number:
21 (non-SSL) or 990 (SSL). Your FTP client will likely default to the correct port for you.
Encryption:
Select Use explicit FTP over TLS if available.
Logon Type:
Select Normal.
User:
Enter your Libsyn account e-mail address. This is the same e-mail address you use to log in at libsyn.com.
Password:
Enter your Libsyn FTP password. This is not the same password you use to login at libsyn.com, this is the FTP password you set in your user account settings specifically for FTP.
With these settings filled in, hit OK. You may be asked if you want FileZilla to save your password, we recommend saving your password when offered.
In order to connect to your Libsyn FTP site, select the Site Manager button in the upper left hand corner.
Your Site Manager will open. Select Libsyn FTP and hit the blue Connect button.
FileZilla will present you with a list of folders. These folders will be the list of shows (named by your show slug) that your user account has access to.
If you only have one show, that will be the only folder listed.
Browsing into the folder for the show you want to upload content to, you will find four subfolders available. Additional details about what each folder does and how to utilize Libsyn's FTP service can be found in our Uploading Using FTP tutorial.
